| I would like to nominate my father, not because he is a big time investor or because he is super rich, yet. I want to nominate him, because he has and is currently applying many of the "Rich Dad" principles and is trying to help me take the journey with him. I admire that though my father has had some difficulty in trying the Rich Dad path, he has never given up and has always used his mistakes as learning experiences to guide him forward. By doing that, he has set a wonderful example for me. He has shown me that the only true failure is when you give up on what you believe. Also, for the first time in his and my mother's lives, they have the joy of owning investment properties that are providing a much better life for them than in previously leaner years. My father has always been willing to go against the grain of traditional thought even though he has been surrounded by it. He is a forward thinker and a very bold man. He like Mr. Kiyosaki, grew up with parents who believed in the old view of go to school and get a good job, but my father did not choose that path for his life. He has taken some severe criticism and faced some hard times as a result of it, but he has emerged victorious in my eyes. Moreover, he is happy to share his lessons with me and others. My father is a great teacher and has shared his gift with me through word and example. I am now teaching these principles to my husband as we are beginning our journey together. We are now reading Rich Dad books and increasing our financial literacy together. We are taking the steps to pick up our first investment. I know that we would be staying on the same "rat race" as most of our thirty-something friends if we had not been educated by Robert and my father. I am very grateful and am looking forward to the journey that my family and I are embarking on. I feel like we are learning how to take control of what happens to our money and will enjoy a much richer (meaning valuable on every level) life together."
